Altay AI

About

An AI practice built by operators who have lived inside finance and operations.

Altay AI is the agentic AI practice of Altay Advisory. We exist to apply AI where it pays back fastest: the office of the CFO and COO.

Why we exist

For the last decade, finance and operations leaders have been told the answer is another transformation programme — a new ERP, a new EPM, another five-year roadmap with a seven-figure invoice attached.

Agentic AI changes that calculus. The same problems — slow close, brittle reporting, manual reconciliations, judgement-heavy compliance — can now be addressed with small, focused interventions that pay back inside a quarter.

Altay AI was built to do exactly that work, with the rigour that regulated functions require and the speed that boards now expect.

What we stand for.

Pragmatism

We are biased to working software, not architecture astronomy. If it does not survive contact with your close calendar, it does not deploy.

Candour

We will tell you when AI is not the answer. The fastest way to lose your trust is to oversell, and we plan to be around for the long run.

Craft

Agents that touch the numbers must be built like the numbers matter. We obsess over evals, guardrails and reviewer experience.

Partnership

We work shoulder-to-shoulder with your team. The goal is your capability, not our retainer.

Meet the team

The people behind Altay AI.

People sit at the centre of what we deliver. We exist to set finance teams up for success — so accountants can spend their time adding value, not wrestling with data and process bottlenecks.

Craig Clarkson FCCA

Founder & Managing Director

Craig is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) with more than fifteen years spent inside finance functions — first as a controller closing the books, later running global transformation programmes for businesses including Cushman & Wakefield, The Access Group, Welltech and Synamedia.

He has led full-scope ERP and EPM rollouts (Workday, OneStream, NetSuite), rebuilt finance shared service centres, and delivered RPA and AI programmes that have removed seven-figure run-rate cost from AP, AR and record-to-report. He is a Prince2 and Change Management Practitioner, with deep experience in target operating models, SOX-aligned controls and benefits realisation.

Craig started Altay AI to set finance teams up for success — to give colleagues their craft back, and let them use their accountancy skills to add real value to the businesses they support, instead of being bogged down by data challenges and process bottlenecks. The brief is simple: efficiency for the business, value at pace, and people at the centre of every engagement.

Part of Altay Advisory.

Altay AI sits alongside the broader business transformation practice of Altay Advisory. The two work together when clients need both — and stay out of each other's way when they don't.
